Our Story
Sociedad de Agricultores Selva Central is a Peruvian Company located in the Peruvian rainforest at Pichanaki district in Chanchamayo province - Junín Department, at 525 m.a.s.l.
This area is known for the production of Peruvian Organic Ginger, Cacao and Coffee plantations, due to its location these crops can develop in their suitable environment and provide a good yield to the farmers.
The company has develop a close relationship with the local growers by helping them to implement a regenerative agriculture, so they are able to have a social balance, eco-friendly environment and an organic product that has more value on the market.
This is possible by using crop rotation, reforestation, proper water management and organic fertilizer, such as manure and compost. Also a suited interaction with the vegetation and wildlife that surrounds their plantations.
Sociedad de Agricultores Selva Central packing house represents our manufacturing practices with 90 % female employees including the chief and the quality supervisor.
This way we empower the women and they can bring the economical support to their homes and families.
Also some of them have some disabilities and they prove that is no impediment to deliver their best at their job.
The process of cleaning of our organic peruvian ginger is all by hand labor with the proper implemented pipes and uniforms.
Piece by piece they go through a careful process of selection and drying process and then are packed into the proper carton boxes and placed into the pallets for shipping; giving the market the freshness product and the best quality.
This processing plant is SMETA, HAACP and FOOD SAFETY
certified.
